Posted: 16SEP2016: Good news!!! We have a new volunteer to serve as GOSA registrar!!!  We are getting the new Registrar set up with computer, software, and the herdbook now. After a few weeks of Breeders Assistant training, and herdbook true up, we'll be off and running with our new registrar. FINALLY!!! Once our new volunteer is ready to "go live" we'll announce name and contact details.

posted: August 1 2016:  Two registration topics. First, we are updating our online registration forms to make them easier to use for our members, and to also to ease the burdern on our registrar who then ports the form info, into our registry. Expected down time is August 1st through August 21st. No new regs will be accepted ruging this time, but those regs that are already in the queue, will be processed during this time.

posted: August 1 2016:  Great news, there are LOTS of new registrations coming in. The GOSA herd is doing well:) That also means we need more volunteer help to process all of these registrations. If you are interested to become a registrar for GOSA, please send an email to sally at president@gosamerica.org with the subject of: registrar volunteer position.

posted July 27, 2014: GOSA bylaws have been drafted and are being reviewed by the board. Once approved, they will be distributed to members. These bylaws were a collaboration by Minnesota law firm that specializes in non-profits, a Paid consultant affiliated with Livestock Conservancy, and GOSA President.

21JUL2013: GOSA Inc BYLAW revisions are underway.  Member input is welcome and encouraged. Please send your input on bylaw topics that you request the board to consider. Send your inputs directly to this email address GOSABOARD. The primary driver for the bylaws revision, is to transform the language from a style appropriate for  a club to a style more fitting for  a non-profit.

In addtion to that, these topics have been raised for consideration: a) clarify membership policy (1 per household vs 1 per human, for example).  b) Insert language that permits a formal title and volunteer position for Chair of a Committee(s).

The draft language for the bylaws will be provided from an attorney/lawfirm who specializes in such matters.  Additionally, we are reviewing bylaws from like minded (heritage breed) non profits - they may serve as a good guideline for our purposes. Send your inputs this week - as the bylaw revision process has begun and will continue through the end of this week.

19JUL2012: The 2013 GOSA Annual Meeting is scheduled for Sunday evening, September 8th, 2013 at 6:00PM Central time. Meeting duration will be up to 90 minutes. Details will be provided once the teleconference platform is reserved.  The meeting agenda will also be provided in advance. Mark your calendars.
